I wait for the light
(01) Story
I’m Noa, a photographer and filmmaker in Copenhagen.
I started in a school darkroom and never quite left. I still shoot film when it matters, print my own work, and make short films with a crew small enough to fit in one car.
I work with magazines, labels and people who would rather wait for the right half hour than fix it later. Most of my favourite pictures took three days and lasted a sixtieth of a second.
Between commissions I go back to the same few places every year, and those visits become the series. Six of them are in print so far.

(04) Four steps
Talk
01
A call about what you are making, who it is for and how it should feel. No mood boards needed.
Scout
02
I visit the place at the hour we will shoot, and plan around the light that is already there.
Shoot
03
One camera, one lens, a small crew. We work slowly and stop when the light does.
04
I edit, print and deliver: files for every use, and a hand-made print of the frame we both love.
